Breakthrough House - Supporting Mental Health Recovery

Breakthrough House Clubhouse Work Units

BREAKTHROUGH HOUSE has five prevocational work units to assist members in developing job skills, and to support them in improving their interaction skills. Participating in these units is a big part of the process of moving toward mental health. The five work units are maintenance, clerical, thrift shop, kitchen, and automotive.

The clubhouse has two meetings each day (9:30 AM and 1:00 PM) in which the tasks for the work units are discussed. Members can sign-up for unit tasks in each of these meetings. Members who are in the clubhouse at these times are required to attend the meetings or they can sit on the back patio until the meetings are completed. Meetings last anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes. Members lead the meetings.
